Sarah Chianglin - Founder & Executive Director
Sarah is currently majoring in politics and history at Pomona College. In 2020, she founded Distant Hugs to spread joy to elderly individuals experiencing social isolation. Besides making cards, Sarah enjoys journaling and sharing creative content on her Instagram @bonjourbullets.

Laura Chianglin - Associate Director & Washington Chapter Lead
Laura is a first-year student attending the University of Washington. She coordinated the card kit donation drive with the Seattle Children’s Hospital and promoted high school student participation within the Bellevue, WA area. Laura enjoys baking and listening to music.

Megan Li - Social Media Manager & Texas Chapter Lead
Megan is a senior at the Hockaday School in Dallas, TX. She has volunteered with Distant Hugs since 2020 and now runs the Dallas chapter. In her free time, she loves dancing, traveling, listening to music, and trying new foods.

Zayna Andoni - Michigan Chapter Lead
Zayna is a sophomore at Powers Catholic High School. She started to work with Distant Hugs in the summer of 2025, and loves to help spread the cause. In her free time, she loves to travel, listen to music, and hike.

Nate Chiang-Lin - Outreach Manager
Nate is currently a junior at Bellevue High School. He is passionate about preventing elderly isolation across the U.S. During his free time, Nate enjoys hiking and traveling.

Sarah Grimes - Illinois Chapter Lead
Sarah is a sophomore at University High School in Illinois. She loves volunteering and spreading kindness throughout her community. Her other interests involve golfing, baking, reading, writing, involvement in church, spending time with friends, and participating in other volunteer programs.

Renata Huitrón León - México Chapter Lead
Renata is a second-year student at Antonio Audirac High School. She has been volunteering with Distant Hugs since 2025. In her free time, she enjoys writing, being in touch with nature, and spending quality time with the people she loves.

Amber Huynh - Co-Texas Chapter Lead
Amber is a junior at McKinney High School. Her goal is to support and uplift those who need encouragement and kindness. When she’s free, she enjoys reading, traveling, and baking.

Camila Salas - Bay Area Chapter Lead
Camila is a junior at Marin Catholic High School. Camila became involved in Distant Hugs as a Chapter Lead during summer of 2025. She is inspired by our mission to spread joy through heartfelt expression and to foster human connection in the form of a “distant hug”. In her free time, she enjoys curling up to a good book, baking sweet treats, watching feel-good movies, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Ivy Siahaan - SoCal Chapter Lead
Ivy is a current sophomore at Rancho Cucamonga Highschool in CA. She is very passionate about helping others with positivity, and is involved with several clubs at her school. She also loves scrapbooking, ice skating, reading, taking photos, and making jewelry in her free time!

Naomi Sun - Washington Chapter Lead
Naomi is an eighth grader at Lakeside School in Washington. She is passionate about helping others in her community feel connected. In her free time, she enjoys playing lacrosse, crocheting, listening to music, and baking.

Lucy Le - Minnesota Chapter Lead
Lucy is a senior at Centennial High School and has been volunteering with Distant Hugs since the summer of 2025. Her goal is to continue making a positive impact in her community, and to inspire others to get involved. Along with being in many school clubs, she enjoys traveling, journaling, and thrifting in her free time.

Charlotte Morlock - Maryland Chapter Lead
Charlotte is a junior at Annapolis High School in Maryland. In the summer of 2025 she also became involved with Distant Hugs. When she has free time she enjoys to read novels, listen to music, and spend time with her friends. Besides volunteering she plays volleyball on her schools varsity team and does club swimming!

Nadia Pawlak - Content Creator
Nadia is a sophomore at Green Hope High School in Cary, North Carolina. She started volunteering with Distant Hugs in the summer of 2025 and is passionate about making a positive change in everyone around her. In her free time, she plays volleyball on her school’s team, does rowing outside of school, and loves making art, volunteering at hospitals, studying medicine, playing golf, and being active!

Emily Telles - Content Creator
Emily is a high school senior at Hart High School in Santa Clarita, California. She has been volunteering for Distant Hugs since the summer of 2025 and makes content. Apart from that, she enjoys volunteering in her community and being apart of several clubs at her school. In her spare time, she enjoys journaling, reading, crocheting, and hanging out with friends!

Rebecca Wezner - Pennsylvania Chapter Lead
Rebecca is a sophomore at Saint Joseph’s University, just outside of Philadelphia, where she is majoring in Entrepreneurship and minoring in International Business. She started to be involved with Distant Hugs during summer 2025 and loves supporting the organization. Rebecca is also the founder of her own jewelry business, SimpleTides, which is where her passion for giving back and content creation first began. In her free time, she enjoys baking, going to the beach, doing crafts, running, and spending time with friends.

Maddie is a Purdue University graduate who studied chemical engineering and is now pursuing law school. She has been a Distant Hugs member since October 2025 and is passionate about contributing to her community. In her free time she enjoys baking, reading, taking care of her plants, and journaling.

Jackie Gama - Connecticut Chapter Lead
Jackie is a junior at Brien McMahon High school. She is driven by her passion to do things that help people feel seen and cared for. In her free time, she enjoys playing field hockey, reading books, painting, and being around people she loves.

Isabella is currently a junior in high school. In her free time she loves spending time with her friends, writing, going to New York City, baking, and listening to music. Her goal in life is to always be positive and make others laugh.
