Sarah Chianglin - Founder & Executive Director
Sarah is currently majoring in politics and history at Pomona College. In 2020, she founded Distant Hugs to spread joy to elderly individuals experiencing social isolation. Besides making cards, Sarah enjoys journaling and sharing creative content on her Instagram @bonjourbullets.

Laura Chianglin - Associate Director & Washington Chapter Lead
Laura is a first-year student attending the University of Washington. She coordinated the card kit donation drive with the Seattle Children’s Hospital and promoted high school student participation within the Bellevue, WA area. Laura enjoys baking and listening to music.

Megan Li - Social Media Manager & Texas Chapter Lead
Megan is a senior at the Hockaday School in Dallas, TX. She has volunteered with Distant Hugs since 2020 and now runs the Dallas chapter. In her free time, she loves dancing, traveling, listening to music, and trying new foods.

Nate Chiang-Lin - Outreach Director
Nate is currently a junior at Bellevue High School. He is passionate about preventing elderly isolation across the U.S. During his free time, Nate enjoys hiking and traveling.

Chloe Caruso - New Jersey Chapter Lead
Chloe is a sophomore at Immaculate Heart Academy in New Jersey. She started volunteering with Distant Hugs during summer of 2025 and is running the New Jersey chapter. Other than volunteering, she is on her school’s cheerleading team and loves things like music, art, and traveling!

Lauren Uribe - Associate Texas Chapter Lead
Lauren is a high school senior in McKinney, TX. She is promoting youth involvement by connecting high school students with local events and initiatives in the Dallas area. In her free time she loves drawing, painting, and reading.
